If you hate the monarchy and Diana, you will automatically hate this movie. The majority of the negative reviews of this movie are about the monarchy itself and how the movie didn't attack them enough. What? That's not a review of the movie.I'm not a loyalist, but I don't hate them either. I don't understand how people thought this movie was too apologetic. I saw a fairly dark side of the royal family and also some positive. It wasn't one sided.
Helen Mirren was great in the role, she appeared so much like the Queen it was eerie. The supporting characters were very good too, and not exactly flattering.
Her Death – I remember the event of Diana's death. I was watching the news that night as we heard about the car crash. I watched as the event unfolded, not having much of an emotional response, but at the same time being mesmerized by it. The sight of her casket being wheeled down the street, with the little card, and “Mummy” written on it, got to me though.
