A well made movie, good acting, good story, I can't find fault with anything in it., but I find It difficult to write a glowing review. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, it's a perfectly good movie, I was entertained throughout, but I'm not really that overwhelmed by it. I would definitely recommend it to friends, but I don't think I'll need to see it again. The cast was good, even Adam Goldberg, someone who usually irritates me, did a great job. However, I can't get the image of him as Chandler's creepy roommate on Friends (1994/TV) out of my head.
With my love of Top Gun (1986) and True Romance (1993) aside, Tony Scott is pretty hit and miss. His movies seem to have no tell-tale semblance of his touch. The movies are well done, but not great.
***Spoilers***
I don't believe time travel is possible. Mainly because I refuse to believe my life is predestined, and the paradoxes hurt my head. That being said, I can still put my beliefs aside and enjoy a movie like this and others that involve rescuing whales in a completely implausible space-time-adventure.
Much fault has been found in this movie because of the paradoxes and time travel inconsistencies. Ya, of course. It's time travel, it can't work, if he goes back and stops the crime then there's no reason for him to go back and stop the crime, so the crime will happen and then he'll have to go back in time...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Why I don't believe in time travel. That being said, put your physics book aside and enjoy the movie.
